Carbon graphite bearings and bushings

Are you looking for high-quality carbon graphite bearings and bushings for the most diverse applications? You have come to the right place. Only the best materials are used for our bearings and bushings so that you are assured of absolute quality.

In addition, you can rely on us for tailor-made deliveries so that we can meet the specific requirements of your company at all times. Examples of this are simple bearing bushes but also more complex variants with notches or grooves and much more.

Material for carbon graphite bearings and bushing from Qgraphites

The materials we use, combined with our carbon graphite, provide superior strength, hardness, wear resistance and natural smoothness. This combination also ensures that our bearings and bushings not only offer thermal stability, but are suitable for the most diverse applications. Think of chemical applications, for example, but also of corrosive applications.

Impregnate for better performance

If desired, Qgraphites can impregnate the bearings and bushings for even better performance in terms of wear resistance. The same applies to extremely high temperatures and products that require impermeable materials. Among other things, we impregnate with oxidation inhibitors, with various types of metal, but also by resining our carbon graphite bearings and bushings.

The right metal choice

The coefficient of thermal expansion plays an important role in the choice of metal for both bearings and bushings. This is due to the difference in expansion coefficients between metals and carbon graphite materials. For example, the chosen metal must have appropriate corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity according to the requirements of your specific application.

Press fitting method

Various methods can be used to mount the carbon graphite in a metal housing. It depends on the quality of the carbon graphite used, the choice of metal and the application temperatures which method is best. In general, the press fitting method is used for this at relatively low temperatures. In such situations, little interference is needed to prevent the carbon graphite from starting to rotate independently.

Crimp fitting method

In addition to the press fitting method, there is also the shrink fitting method. This method is actually used at higher temperatures. This requires more interference to prevent rotation of the carbon graphite. With the shrink fitting method, carbon graphite falls into a heated metal housing, as it were. As soon as the metal cools, the housing will shrink and carbon graphite will grip. It therefore also depends on your specific application which method – press fitting or shrink fitting – is best to use. Qgraphites is happy to advise you on this.
